MySixWriMo Day 7

*****

Three prompts today, two for Tuesday plus one. With such abundance, we have no recourse but staggering brilliance.

First the twofer from Robert Lee Brewer at Poetic Asides:

Prompt #1: I want you to write a clean poem (six). Take this however you wish. Clean language, clean subject matter, or cleaning the dishes. Of course, some twisted few will automatically link "cleaning" with hired hitmen. That's okay, as long as your poem (six) is somehow linked to clean.

Prompt #2: I want you to write a dirty poem (six). Take all that stuff I wrote in the first prompt and twist it upside down. The opposite of clean is dirty; so, do what ya gotta do to produce a dirty poem (six).

And one hand-selected by yours truly from The Writer’s Book of Matches (Writer’s Digest Books):

After five years of admiring her around the office, Michael finally gets the chance to make his move.

So write and post. I’ll do the same. I look forward to the day’s riches.

I did a combo. See what you guys think.

A New Creation

Michael thought about her as he lay in bed at night, the way her chestnut hair swung when she turned her head, the smooth way her lips curled when she found something amusing.

She was beyond him, an astral figure to his stature in the muck, so he purified himself, renouncing sin and turning to holy things to make himself worthy, sacraments like exercise, whole foods, the church.

The cleansing at church exacted a miracle, God’s mighty power surging through him as the preacher’s heavy hand expelled his dark sinfulness; the hallelujahs and praise the Lords filling the hole.

He saw her in the lunch room, reading one of those thick women’s books, the lettuce peeking from her sandwich in a girlish frill.

“I finally feel worthy of asking you for dinner,” he said.

“Fuck off,” she said before going back to her sandwich.

Oh, rude, crude and well done!
Here's what I could muster today so far:
Eww Haiku
Cleaning the kitchen
Black chunks skittered back and forth
Pieces of old roast?

Yeeesh. Ewww, for sure, Jane. I think that's living in my fridge right now.

I couldn't come up with anything on this one. My brain was fried from work, and I had nothing left to give. Both of you did exceptionally well.

Nice touch at the end, Greta. It made the whole thing gel.

I can relate to your piece, Jane. Sometimes, it's better when you don't know what it is.
